What Echo is
Echo is an AI journaling app. You write or speak; Echo responds, notices patterns, and keeps your journal. Echo's responses are generated by AI — they can be imperfect, and they are not professional advice of any kind.
What Echo isn't
Echo is not therapy, not medical care, and not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose conditions and it can't replace a doctor, therapist, or crisis service. If you're in crisis, contact your local emergency services — the app's You tab lists support resources.
Your account
You need an account to use Echo, and you must be 16 or older. Keep your credentials to yourself; you're responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account and all your data anytime in the app.
Your content
Your journal is yours. You own what you write. You give us only the permission needed to operate Echo — storing your entries and processing them with our AI providers to generate responses and insights, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't use your journal for anything else.
Pricing
Echo is currently free. Paid tiers with additional features may be introduced later; if they are, they'll be clearly marked, optional, and governed by the app store's purchase terms.
Acceptable use
Don't use Echo to break the law, harm others, or attempt to compromise the service. We can suspend or terminate accounts that do.
Availability
We work to keep Echo running, but it's provided "as is" — we can't promise uninterrupted service, and features may change as Echo evolves.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (currently: nothing, since Echo is free).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Nothing in them limits rights you have under EU consumer law.
Changes
If these terms change meaningfully, we'll tell you in the app.
